Equinox which comes on March 20 and September 23 which splits earth’s day almost into half of the daylight and half of the night into 12 hours each. We experience this every six months in a year. On this day March 20, 2019 it is vernal equinox, where the sun scorches summer season in the northern hemisphere and winter season in the Southern Hemisphere. September 23, autumnal equinox is a sign in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a day where only the planet earth can experience equal length of day and night which happens when the sun cross the earth’s equator.
Different ancient people across the globe marked equinox as rebirth of many countries, culture and traditions across the world. They also marked through pyramid, Stonehenge, England with celestial observatory function, Grianan of Aileach, Ireland monument is aligned to the rising sun of the equinox. Angkor Wat, Cambodia where in the spring rises up in the central temple. Eqiunox causes - The "nearly" equal hours of day and night are due to refraction of sunlight or a bending of the light's rays that causes the sun to appear above the horizon when the actual position of the sun is below the horizon.
Equinox - why is it important? Every year sun crosses twice to celestial equator, moving from Southern Hemisphere to Northern Hemisphere and Northern Hemisphere to Southern Hemisphere. The inhabitants of earth will mark two crossings over sun’s ray’s fall on earth. You can all witness this because we are on this planet earth especially by visiting pyramids or the sunrise in the AngkorWat temple.
